𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 | This September 15, 2025, we celebrate the International Day of Democracy, a reminder of our rights and responsibilities as citizens who give life to government.

With the theme “Achieving Gender Equality, Action by Action,” this year highlights the importance of ensuring that both men and women have equal opportunities to participate fully in a democracy.

Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007, this day underscores the role of democracy in shaping and strengthening societies. It also encourages governments to protect freedoms and uphold the voices of their people.

We celebrate democracy because it allows everyone to partake in discussions that matter to them.

This system of governance has strengthened many nations by giving citizens the freedom to choose and the power to help guide their future.

With this, we are able to shape deliberately the kind of nation we wish to see tomorrow.

On this International Day of Democracy, let us value the freedom and rights that continue to build our nation, and let us commit to making equality and participation the true pillars of our democracy.
