This day originated from the feast of St. Jerome, who was a Bible translator and is considered the patron saint of translators. He was able to translate the Bible into Latin, further bridging the gap between God and his believers caused by the contrast of language used.
In the present, we celebrate today with much appreciation for our linguistic architects who had built bridges of communication, understanding, and unity across many different cultures using their very own intellect.
To our professional translators, Happy International Translation Day!
