LOOK | Enhancing Leadership Skills among UMIHS Club Officers

“𝑊𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦.”

The University of Mindanao Ilang High School conducted a Leadership Development Program (LDP) on September 22, 2023, held at the gymnasium of the institution. Officers from each club, except for sports clubs, attended this training. Registration started at 8:00 AM up to 8:30 AM, and the program proper commenced at 9:40 AM.

The speaker for the morning session was Sir Matias Regis Jr., an executive assistant, experienced writer, and project manager. He said, “Leadership is a decision.” It is something that requires thorough thinking about whether you want to be a leader or not. Being a leader requires a great deal of responsibility and commitment. To lead a specific group, a leader must have leadership skills.

This Leadership Development Program assisted all officers in becoming great, responsible leaders in their respective clubs.

𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵.” Mr. Regis said on an interview.

A “Ga” leader possesses excellence, honesty, integrity, innovation, and teamwork. As Ms. Julieta C. Pernes, the UMIHS’ school principal stated, “The qualities of being a leader are learned and earned.” UM Ilang High School seeks to produce more passionate, ambitious, and integrated leaders in our society.
