Maroon Memoir | 1 Day 'Til V Day

February 13, Kiss Day

'I didn't know much about love before.'

My shoes were wet, and my hair and clothes stuck to my skin while I was watching the raindrop form a ripple—while the words

"I don't love you as much as I used to."

trickled with the water. I watched as my hope diminished. I thought I had it this time, but I am still an inexperienced child who cannot differentiate love and like.

My days stayed the same like that day—gloomy and depressing; despite how hard the sun shines, I can still feel the cold breeze comforting me.

'But now I think I'm learning.'

It's been months; I moved on, and I learned to fix what's wrong with me. It was supposed to be a normal day—a normal event held in our school.

It was a pretty normal day—eyepatch and sword in hand, waiting for the event to start—until I saw her.

She bewitched me. From the moment she entered, I felt something twist inside me.

Something about her makes me want to relearn loving—something about her makes me want to love again.

'I try to think straight, but I'm falling so badly.'

Weeks after the event, I spoke to her. She wasn't as terrifying as I imagined—the once gloomy morning became dewy and lustrous. I don't know how, but all I know is that she cast a spell on my heart.

Bewitched:

A tale of new love where the album explores the intoxicating feeling of being under a spell; the song describes the feeling of being completely captivated by a person from the first kiss, or in this tale, first glance, by using metaphors of enchantment to show how intense the passion and the longing feeling are.

This story illustrates learning about love. The story progresses from him being told he cannot love properly to learning to love so that he can admire properly.

In the end, he explained that his once gloomy days came to an end once he spoke to her, showing that he is finally learning how to love—yearning for and admiring that person that cast a spell on his heart.

So the moral of this story is yearn well, live well!
