NEWS | Literary Musical Competitions evoke brilliance in UMians

On October 17, 2023, the University of Mindanao Ilang High School held its Literary Musical Competition for the school's Intramurals, echoing the theme "UM@77: Sustaining a Culture of Excellence Via Core Values."

This event brought together the diverse talents and creativity of students to promote literature, talent, and spread knowledge throughout the academic community. The participants were drawn from eight distinct units within the university, with each unit nominating one representative for each competition.

In the morning, the Literary Musical Cadmus event showcased a variety of competitions, each designed to foster a deeper appreciation for language and culture. Essay and poem writing in both Filipino and English, oration, impromptu speaking, and vocal solo are among the events.

The afternoon events started with an enchanting display of literary brilliance through poetry interpretation, followed by theater accent, kinema cum kinetics, and virtual parody.

As the curtains drew to a close, the echoes of applause lingered in the air, serving as a testament to the success of the event. The literary musical competition of The UMIHS was not just a celebration of talent; it was a monument to the power of art to inspire, unite, and ignite the imagination of the next generations.
