NEWS | UMIHS acclaims new queen for Mutya ng UM Ilang 2023

UMIHS presented its annual pageant event, Mutya ng UM Ilang, which left the audience in astonishment and acclaim with a brilliant display of capability and breakthroughs. Ms. Gwynn Arabilla was crowned at the ceremony on October 19, 2023.

The pageant event was a monument to our new queen's devotion and hard work; she dazzled the audience with her distinct skill, singing, and colorful outfits. After much deliberation, the title of Mutya ng UM Ilang 2023 went to Ms. Gwynn Arabilla. Her winning answer to the question that is associated with our theme, Sustaining a Culture of Excellence via Core Values, paved the way for Arabilla of Unit 7 Red Ravens to win Ms. Intramurals 2023.

In an interview, Ms. Gwynn Arabilla describes her journey to the crown, "It was tense. I wasn't expecting really that I would be crowned as the Mutya ng UM Ilang because all of the candidates are truly amazing, they're so elegant, and I cannot foresee myself yet that I would be crowned as the Mutya ng UM Ilang. So the journey was really challenging, it was a challenge for me."

"Even with all the circumstances, even with doubt and hesitation--I know this is cliche--but the only vitality is always believe in yourself cause it's you and always just you, so always believe in yourself.", Arabilla's words of encouragement for the aspiring beauty queens in the future.
